This will be my final review on [Instagram] before switching over to my website full time. Someone had been pestering me on my snapchat Yolo to review 1917, whoever you are, here it is. I watched it last night in a film class for the first time and words cannot describe how much I loved this film! It details the story of two British Lance Corporals, Blake and Schofield, who are assigned to go on a nearly impossible mission during World War I: to go through No Man’s Land and deliver an order to a regiment that tells them not to go through with an attack that is a trap by the Germans and will lead to their deaths. One of the soldiers in the regiment is Blake’s brother. Along the way to the regiment, they face numerous life-threatening obstacles and find out more about each other and life. This movie was so amazing and I enjoyed every second of it! The set design, the one-take technique, the sound, and so much more! I loved it! I might piss some people off but this film was far better than Parasite! It deserved Best Picture more! Parasite was still good, but I didn’t like it as much. By the way, some big name actors have bit parts in 1917, be on the lookout! All in all, there’s so much more I could say about this film and how much I loved it, which is why I’m switching over to the website. Watch it if you haven’t! I rate this film EXCEPTIONAL on the scale.
